Kerava Youth Services

Kerava Youth Services aim is to empower young people, improve the living conditions of youth and to encourage young people to civil activity. All the youth work in Kerava focuses in pedagogical approach, which is carried out in youth centers, workshops, as well as a variety of projects.

Youth Services offer variety of different activities in too youth centers, Youth Cafe Tunneli and Youth house Elzu and in mobile unit Kerbiili. Activities are organized in workshop Jenga, in children’s summer camps  as well as a variety of projects.  Most of the activities are free of charge and youth clubs are open several evenings during the week.

Youth activity centers Tunneli, Elzu and Kerbiili offer young people opportunity to meet friends on free time, always in the present of an adult youth worker. Jenga is a workshop for 17 – 25 -years old young people and adults. Jenga offers guidance for unemployed inhabitants towards work life and has different types of activities: woodwork, textilework, upholstery, secondhand shop Pajapuoti and Media education center Mekka.

Kerava Youth Services also supports youth organisations and groups of young people by sharing grants. In addition, Youth Services acts in cooperation with a number of multi-professional networks with other participants. Cultural and functional youth work, youth information and -counseling services, as well as other local forms of action are implemented and continuously developed.
